February 6, 2007 Board Meeting Agenda Item #34 Title APPROVAL TO PROCEED WITH THE PLANNING, DESIGN, DRAWINGS, BUDGET DEVELOPMENT, AND, IN THE CASE OF THE TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL, THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SCHENKEL SHULTZ CONCEPT OF THE SARASOTA COUNTY TECHNICAL CENTER Description On January 9, 2007, staff from the School Board's Construction Department and from Schenkel Shultz Architecture presented a conceptual plan for the future of the Sarasota County Technical Center to be constructed on the campus of the current SCTI.  The presentation includes a rough site layout, a phased construction timeline, and an initial budget estimate.  The Board supported the concept and directed staff to move forward with the plan.  This motion formalizes that action. Recommendation #34-That the Board direct the Superintendent of Schools to proceed with the planning, design, drawings, budget development, and, in the case of the technical high school, the construction, of the Schenkel Shultz concept of the Sarasota County Technical Center as presented at the January 9, 2007 Board Workshop.
